(Admission Day for California)
Well, we started out this morning by eating breakfast in Bart in the car wash. It seemed like a good idea. Then we went by the Smith’s grocery store to buy water, muffins, summer sausage and 2 rolls of quarters. (For laundry not gambling.) While in Smith’s I heard this muzak song, (hear this with a country twang) “I was born with a suitcase in my hand, so I don’t know where I’m going.” Of all the things my wonderful mother taught me, one was wanderlust. I remember my mom putting us three kids and the dog Pepi in the car and driving somewhere. No doubt she told us where we were going, but I don’t remember. What I remember is sitting in the back seat with the window rolled down with my head hanging out trying to breathe the rushing air. Ahhh… Thanks mom!
We had a most glorious drive through Utah into Wyoming into Idaho into Wyoming. The scenery is incredibly beautiful. It is difficult to describe. That’s why I said to BC part way through the drive “You have to drive the US to see how beautiful it is.”
We ran into cows. (not literally as surprising as that is for my past driving experiences!). They were so cute and funny.
Then, drum roll please, we went into Idaho to see Geneva, Idaho. Now, for those of you with “normal” names, you can’t understand what it is to never have a keychain, coffee mug, Xmas ornament, etc with your name on it. So, here I am in Geneva Idaho! Yeah! My own city!
We looked everywhere for the BBOY, but, nope it was not to be found in UT, WY, ID, WY. However! We did find “The World’s Largest Intermitting Spring.”
After that we needed to stop and have lunch. We ate at “Hugg’s Grillin' Barn. “Please don’t tell Dr. Gillum, but we shared a mushroom/swiss cheese hamburger. It was so good! Tonight’s dinner is fruit, crackers and cheese.” Burp!
We finished the day off at the quilt store in Jackson. How wonderful is that? Well, maybe only wonderful for me. In any case, it felt good. I found some Buffalo Bill fabric. Now you’re jealous, huh?
We’re getting the whole packing and loading thing down better now. Bart is full, so everything has its place and it’s quite an ordeal to load and unload. But now we are getting it together just fine.
Weird, we are in room 116 again tonight. Just a different city and state….
Love to you all, bob and geneva

Hey you two, you're bringing back many memories of numerous trips to Casper, Wyoming ... where we visited grandma Mae. She spent her final years in a Pioneer House (SNF). Always did our best to make the best of the trip. Usually included a stay at Yellowstone or Jackson Hole.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying "our" trip!
Happy trails, Joan
