We are here at the home of our friends, Patrick and Joan Munoz. We’ve known Joan for many years, (from Indy) and Patrick and Joan were in the group that went to Nakuru, Kenya with us in March ’09. Patrick installed the kitchen for the Mountain Park Academy. They have a lovely home and we are pleased to be here!
We started out this morning in North Carolina. We drove southwest on I85. Once again, it has been great weather and beautiful scenery. Though we have decided that we aren’t fans of driving through the cities (like home!), we much prefer the slower pace towns.
We have looked and looked for a drive through car wash and haven’t been able to find one in probably 10 states! Poor Bart, he is so dirty!
We haven’t found the BBOY, but we found the World’s Largest Firework Store (again!) in North Carolina, the largest Peach in Gaffney, South Carolina along with lots of shoe warehouses (?), used furniture stores and a huge super Doppler. I’m sorry there is no picture of the super Doppler. My bad, I was on camera duty and missed it. But it was very tall, very big and very silly.
We did stop for gas in Commerce, Georgia. BC found a most unusual warning posted in the store. Thank goodness we didn’t do any scratching. I might add that for 75 cents I could buy “5 fun sexy toys” from a machine in the bathroom. I didn’t!!! Come on now!
We stopped at Chateau Elan in Georgia and tasted their wines and had some lunch. That is a beautiful place!
Bob and Joan had a conference call with business partners regarding the Global Teacher Foundation. I worked on computer stuff and relaxed. It’s nice to not be driving!
We will be going to Robertsdale, Alabama tomorrow to visit my friend Dianne Lovdal. We may get in late and not be able to get to the blog until the next day. But don’t worry! We’ll be back! Love to you all, bc and gc
